Dr. Isaac Morrison has been a strong advocate for private-public partnership and health systems strengthening in Ghana for the past 20 years. Since 1997, he has led and set up several healthcare facilities as a general practitioner and in partnership with the private sector.

He has served in the Society of Private Medical and Dental Practitioners, Ghana (SPMDP) from 2007 to the present as chairman, regional chairman, national vice president and national president. He was elected chairman of Medicines Transparency Alliance Ghana (MeTA Ghana) in 2011 as part of a seven-country, multi-stakeholder alliance to improve access and affordability of medicines in lower to middle income countries and promote transparency and accountability within the medical supply chain.

Dr. Morrison is a contributing author to three toolkits produced by the Joint Learning Network (JLN). He also contributed to the development of numerous guidelines and toolkits on healthcare systems and management. He is a member of the team that prepared draft legislative instruments (HeFRA Act, ACT 829 and NHIA ACT 852) in Ghana.

He currently serves on the boards of National Health Insurance Authority, AIMS Hospital and Fidelity Healthcare. He serves in several working groups for the ministry of health. He is also a member of the Ghana Medical Association and serves in several committees. He is a former CEO of the State Fishing Corporation, a state-owned enterprise.

Dr. Morrison holds an MD (Hons) from the Lvov State Medical Institute, an MBA (finance) from Coventry University, UK, a Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons) from GIMPA Ghana, an MPH from University of Ghana, and a post-graduate diploma in health systems management from GIMI Israel. He is a native English speaker and fluent in Russian and several Ghanaian languages. He has a working knowledge of French and Ukrainian.
