Sarah Wangilisasi is a pharmacist with over three years of experience in the supply chain management of pharmaceuticals in areas of health commodities quantification, inventory management, procurement and pharmaceutical systems strengthening.
Ms. Wangilisasi is a senior program officer at Results for Development in Tanzania where she is part of the market shaping team working on scaling up access to pneumonia treatment for children. Her roles include working closely with government partners to provide technical assistance and support in various areas including procurement of pneumonia treatment, monitoring supply chains, quantification and forecasting and participating in technical and policy working groups to ensure pneumonia treatment is available in public health facilities.
Before joining R4D, Ms. Wangilisasi was a customer service officer for the Tanzania medical store department, where her main role was to ensure the availability of essential medicines in public health facilities by coordinating with different departments in solving supply chain bottlenecks to ensure timely delivery of health commodities to health facilities. She also has experience in working in hospital pharmacy and community pharmacy settings.
Ms. Wangilisasi holds a bachelor’s of pharmacy degree from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Tanzania. She speaks English and Swahili.
