Collaborative learning as an effective tool to strengthen safe blood systems in low- and middle-income countries

This brief provides a detailed overview of how R4D and partner Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation applied Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) practices to support strengthening of national safe blood systems in Liberia, Malawi and Rwanda. It explores why peer learning can be a particularly powerful tool to promote joint- and cross-learning among countries on topics and approaches to strengthen national safe blood systems. The brief details activities and resources produced by participating countries with support from the R4D-led USAID Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator and highlights advantages and recommendations for applying collaborative learning methods.
