On April 17, Results for Development, Pearson and Worldreader gathered for an exciting conversation on the findings of a two-year pilot and a discussion about how organizations are leveraging technology to support early childhood development with an emphasis on real-time learning.
Over 200 million children in low- and middle-income countries will fail to meet their developmental milestones and fall behind by the age of five. To address these inequalities and get children off to a stronger start, we need sharper thinking, new partnerships and innovation to move the needle on early childhood development outcomes.
Worldreader, Pearson, and Results for Development are thrilled to share the results of the Read to Kids pilot that focused on leveraging mobile technology to support parental involvement in early reading. This initiative is part of the Project Literacy campaign which aims to close the global literacy gap by 2030.
This event was the first in R4D’s 10th Anniversary Event Series, set to run throughout 2018 and to focus on the theme of working with local change agents for systems-wide impact in health, education and nutrition.
