Taylor Salisbury has over ten years of experience working with partners in sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia to help them learn more about their programs and look for ways to improve them.
As an associate director with R4D’s Evaluation and Adaptive Learning practice, Mr. Salisbury collaborates with the Market Shaping teams in Tanzania and Ethiopia on projects to increase access to health commodities. He also supports the Governance Action Hub to track the program’s efforts to bring together coalitions of civil society, private sector, and public sector partners to achieve more equitable outcomes in the energy sector. In recent years, Mr. Salisbury has also facilitated many types of learning activities as part of the USAID-funded RF MERL program in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Mali.
Before joining R4D, Mr. Salisbury was a field coordinator in Ethiopia and Zambia for the World Bank Africa Gender Innovation Lab. As part of this work, he managed research activities for impact evaluations focusing on labor markets, vocational skills training, and women’s entrepreneurship. He also previously worked in Ghana on an evaluation of a national apprenticeship program.
Mr. Salisbury holds an MA in international development and a BA in international political economy from Georgetown University. In between his degrees he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Northeast Thailand. He speaks English, Thai and Lao.
