WASHINGTON, D.C. — Results for Development (R4D) congratulates Loyce Pace on her appointment as director of the Office of Global Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Her new role requires her to relinquish her board memberships, including R4D’s board of directors, which she joined in 2020.
Prior to joining HHS, Loyce served as president and CEO of Global Health Council (GHC), which she rebuilt and grew to global prominence in her 4 years as its leader.
“Loyce only recently joined R4D’s board,” said Gina Lagomarsino, R4D’s president and CEO. “But, in a short time, she offered many insightful suggestions regarding our approach to COVID-19 response, our engagement with local partners around the world, and our approach to anti-racism internally and in our work globally. I also very much appreciated Loyce’s invitation to participate in GHC’s influential summits, including helping co-design and facilitate GHC’s 2020 summit ‘Pandemics, Politics and Privilege: The Good, Bad & Ugly US Legacy.’”
David de Ferranti, R4D’s board chair and former president, added: “Loyce’s experience and wisdom — on international development, global health, diversity, equity and inclusion issues, and much more — made her a terrific addition to the R4D board. While we’re sorry she had to step off so soon because of her important new role in the U.S. government, we’re glad for her — and the nation — that her talents will be well used at a time when the U.S. needs her.”
We wish Loyce all the best in her new role leading efforts to re-engage the U.S. government with the rest of the globe across numerous health issues. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services — and people around the world — will greatly benefit from Loyce’s thoughtful and dynamic leadership.
