Kedar Mate, M.D., is founder and chief medical officer of Qualified Health AI, a digital health company building infrastructure to scale health care AI safely and securely. At Qualified Health, Dr. Mate sets the clinical vision and strategy to improve outcomes for patients and providers.

Previously, Dr. Mate was president and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College. His scholarly work focuses on digital enablement, health care quality, health equity, and approaches to achieving large-scale change.

He has also worked at Partners In Health, the World Health Organization, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is widely published, serves on multiple health system and company boards, and has received numerous honors, including Soros, Fulbright, and Aspen fellowships. He was recently named to Modern Healthcare’s Top 100 Most Influential Health Care Executives in the U.S. With Donald Berwick, he hosts the health care podcast “Turn On the Lights,” which explores persistent challenges in the field.

He earned a degree in American history from Brown University and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
