Dr. L. Nneka Mobisson has over two decades of experience driving innovation in global healthcare systems and improving population health outcomes. A pediatrician by training, she has worked extensively in health and health care policy, strategy, innovation, quality, patient safety, disease management and wellness in the private, nonprofit and public sectors.

She is co-founder and CEO of mDoc, a telehealth company which integrates proven methodologies in data, quality and behavioral science with web and mobile technologies to support people with chronic illness.

Prior to founding mDoc, Dr. Mobisson was executive director for Institute for Healthcare Improvement Africa (IHI), a leading global health organization focused on health care quality improvement. Under her leadership, IHI dramatically expanded efforts to build sustainable change in healthcare delivery systems across priority countries. She currently serves as faculty advisor at IHI where she provides strategic guidance to countries on developing national quality policies and strategies in health.

Dr. Mobisson was previously vice president of community health and population health management at the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA). In this role, she provided leadership to hospitals in population health management, technology, and value-based care. Prior to CHA, she was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where she focused on strategy development for payers and providers, health care IT, and pharmaceutical companies. She also worked at the World Bank on private health care investment in low-income countries and regional strategy development. She started her career at Merck and Co. with the Merck Vaccine Division.

Dr. Mobisson serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Healthcare Leadership Academy, the Ubora Quality Institute and the African Children’s Hospitals Foundation. She also serves on the Phillips Andover Academy Alumni Council and the International Society for Quality in Healthcare Expert Group.

She was recognized as a Rainer Arnhold Fellow by the Mulago Foundation in 2021; as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014; and was a 2019 Ashoka Fellow. She was listed as one of the New Wealth Creators by Forbes Africa in 2019; was a 2022 Cartier Women’s Initiative Impact Awardee; and a Yale Associate World Fellow.

Dr. Mobisson holds a medical degree and master’s degree in business administration from Yale University, a master’s degree in public health from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from MIT. She completed her pediatrics residency at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is licensed to practice in the state of New York.
