Admasu Teketel is a senior pharmacist and supply chain expert with more than 15 years of experience. He also has more than 13 years of experience in pharmaceuticals management and operational research. Over the past two years, he has worked on supply chain efficiency analysis and providing policy recommendations to the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. He also has experience in health program and commodities management including maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, HIV, TB and malaria. He worked as a team leader and director for pharmaceuticals capacity building and operational research. He played a major role in the development of the Ethiopian national health system monitoring and evaluation framework.

Mr. Teketel is a program officer for maternal, neonatal and child health (MNCH) at Results for Development (R4D) where he works on market shaping practices, attraction of suppliers, sustainable financing and last mile distribution for MNCH commodities.

Throughout his career, Mr. Teketel has focused on health commodity management and conducting research in the field of health. He has conducted national quantification for program and essential medicines. He has conducted multiple operational research projects on health supply chain bottle necks. He has also provided policy recommendations to the Ministry of Health on efficiency in the health supply chain.

Prior to joining R4D, Mr. Teketel worked in health management as a technical advisor for health commodity efficiency analysis, Pamela Steele associate as technical advisor for health commodity management transformation and director of supply chain and operational research at the Ethiopian pharmaceuticals supply agency.

Mr. Teketel holds as bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a master’s degree in supply chain management from Addis Ababa University. He speaks Amharic (local language) and is also fluent in English.
