Farhan Yusuf is a pharmacist and public health expert with over 13 years of experience in various elements of health systems strengthening including health supply chains, governance, market development and public private partnerships for health in Tanzania.

Mr. Yusuf is a Fellow at Results for Development (R4D). He was previously Chief of Party for the Frontier Health Markets (FHM) Engage program in Tanzania, where he oversaw the implementation of the program in-country. This global program seeks to improve the ability of health markets to meet supply-side capacity gaps and consumer preferences, contributing to equitable provision of and access to high-quality health services and products.

Mr. Yusuf is very keen about youth leadership in the health sector and on the African continent in general. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to participate in various prestigious youth leadership programs including the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) – Regional Leadership Center, the Emerging African Leaders Program and most recently the Youth Leaders for Health program.

Before joining R4D as the Tanzania Chief of Party for the Frontier Health Markets (FHM) Engage program, Mr. Yusuf worked as the Senior Program Officer, Pharmaceutical Systems and Supply Chains on the Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus project that was the predecessor project to FHM Engage and introduced him to the interesting and impactful domain of public private partnerships for health.

Mr. Yusuf is a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania and an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania. He holds a bachelor of pharmacy degree from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences..
