James Asafo-Adjei

Senior Program Officer

James Asafo-Adjei has 17 years of professional experience in information, communication and technology for development (ICT4D), performance monitoring, evaluation and learning (PME&L), geographic information system (GIS), and knowledge management.

As a senior program officer at Results for Development (R4D), he provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership to the Accelerator Ghana project in information technology (IT) systems, data integration, and generation. The project supports Ghana’s Ministry of Health in harmonizing governance structures and systems-level integration of databases between Ghana’s health agencies and the private sector.

Prior to R4D, Mr. Asafo-Adjei was the senior information management systems specialist for Management Systems International for seven years. He also provided consultancy services to organizations such as R4D, FHI 360, Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI), Episcopal Relief & Development, Jubilee LEED, and Ghana Commercial Agriculture Project (GCAP). His career focus has been to deploy IT systems and build the capacity of organizations to design and operationalize monitoring, evaluation and learning systems in areas such as economic growth and development, health and waste management.

Mr. Asafo-Adjei has an MSc in information technology management from the University of Sunderland, UK, a BSc in computing and its practices from the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK, a professional diploma in software engineering, and an honors diploma in network engineering from NIIT Ghana.
