Myron Burkholder

Senior Director Subawards & Procurement

Myron Burkholder is an experienced international development non-profit operations leader. He has led finance, administration, human resource, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams and supported regional and departmental planning and budgeting and financial analysis for multiple organizations. He has deep experience ensuring donor compliance across a diverse array of funders with particular expertise in US Government grants compliance. Myron has demonstrated commitment to improving organizational partnerships and subawarding practices to more effectively support local leadership of development programming.

Mr. Burkholder is the senior director of subawards and procurement at Results for Development (R4D), where he oversees the organization’s subawards and procurement teams. Myron contributes to policies and practices that ensure that R4D’s global subawarding and procurement practices are effective, efficient and transparent and are appropriate for engaging with our partners.

Prior to joining R4D, Myron led the program impact and quality assurance operations team at Catholic Relief Services (CRS), providing operations support to CRS’ global technical experts and to their global grants team.  At CRS he co-led a global initiative to reform CRS policy and practice around granting subrecipient indirect costs with an eye toward improving sustainability of CRS’ partner non-profits.   

Myron worked for nine years at Lutheran World Relief (Corus International) on the Latin America program team in a variety of program and operations roles including as deputy regional director for operations supporting multi-country finance, administration, human resources and grants management practice.  

Myron’s interest in international development began as a Peace Corps volunteer in Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Honduras, where he worked with water boards in rural communities to improve sustainable administration of rural water and sanitation facilities and to obtain funding and technical support for infrastructure expansion and upgrades.     

Myron holds a Master of Arts degree in international policy studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey [formerly Monterey Institute of International Studies]; along with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a Bachelor of Science in speech communication, both from James Madison UniversityHe is a native English speaker and can communicate fluently in Spanish.
