Rebekka Flam

Senior Program Associate

Rebekka Flam (she/her) is an international development professional with experience working in Southeast Asia and East Africa through schools, non-profit organizations and social enterprises. She is passionate about advancing environmental and global citizenship, transformative education and community-centered research and development.

Ms. Flam is a senior program associate on the education team at Results for Development (R4D). Through project management and communications, she supports the School Action Learning Exchange (SALEX), an international education network, funded by the Jacobs Foundation, which undertakes joint learning, collaboration, research and advocacy. Ms. Flam also conducts qualitative research and coordination for projects supporting early childhood development and resiliency-building in the face of civic space closures.

Before joining R4D, Ms. Flam served as a program associate for an education-based non-profit organization in Chiang Mai, Thailand as part of her VIA Global Community Fellowship. As a fellow, she played a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission of enhancing access to education for migrant youth. She accomplished this by coordinating the scholarship committee, expanding the volunteer network, executing multiple fundraising campaigns and managing external communications. Following her fellowship, Ms. Flam taught English to students from primary to secondary levels and collaborated with a social enterprise concerned with energy poverty alleviation and climate change mitigation to conduct research in Kenya.

Ms. Flam holds an MA in development, education and international cooperation from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and a BS in environmental studies and international affairs from Florida State University.
