Overview
Since 2016, R4D Nigeria has worked alongside government leaders to increase access to high-quality, affordable health care, improve educational opportunities for children, and reduce malnutrition. In 2022, R4D Nigeria was formally registered as a Private Company Limited by Guarantee, reinforcing the organization’s long-term commitment to supporting the Nigerian government.
R4D Nigeria partners with federal and state institutions to co-develop practical, evidence-informed solutions that strengthen the health and education systems and improve service delivery. Our team of Nigerian experts brings deep knowledge of the country context, alongside expertise in health financing, public financial management, gender integration, market shaping, and innovation — spanning topics such as nutrition, maternal and child health, and immunization.
Over the past decade, R4D has built strong partnerships across many government ministries, departments, and agencies — including the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the National Health Insurance Authority, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning — as well as state governments and national coalitions such as the Nigeria Governors’ Forum. Through these collaborations, R4D supports leaders at both the national and subnational levels to design and implement reforms that strengthen primary health care systems and improve health outcomes for Nigerians.
