Held annually in Rabat, Morroco, the National Conference on Health Financing brings together experts and practitioners from around the world to advance knowledge and expertise in the financing of health care.
Results for Development Senior Program Director Dr. Chris Atim participated in the conference, participated in a thematic workshop, “Pooling Resources for Health and Financial Risk Management.”
The panel was moderated by Dr. KH. Lahlou, director of the National Agency of Health Insurance, and Dr. Atim’s co-panelists included Mr. R. Fromentin, health insurance expert, Professor A. Soucat, director of health systems, governance and funding for the World Health Organization, and Dr. E. Jarawan, public health specialist.
Topics discussed included health policy and fund mobilization in different sectors, pooling of different funds as a path towards equitable financing of health in Morocco, and a roadmap for Morocco to reduce household spending.
