Strategies for generation and use of routine safe blood data for decision-making and performance management

This knowledge product outlines key strategies to enhance the collection, management and utilization of safe blood data to improve clinical outcomes and ensure the sustainability of blood services. It was co-developed as part of cross-country learning for strengthening safe blood systems among Liberia, Malawi, and Rwanda under the USAID Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator project. It also incorporates insights gained from a cross-country learning visit to the Namibian Blood Transfusion Service (NamBTS) in April 2024, which offered innovative strategies and lessons that can be adopted and/or adapted by blood transfusion services in other countries.
