In collaboration with kupara consulting and with funding from the Gates Foundation, Results for Development (R4D) has developed an interactive, customizable tool designed to support the costing of national and sub-national MMS introduction and scale-up roadmaps. This excel-based tool features a user-friendly interface that assists stakeholders in estimating the costs of all activities necessary for a successful transition from iron folic acid (IFA) to MMS. The tool prompts users to cost activities across various implementation categories such as product procurement, demand generation, and advocacy and coordination. The MMS Roadmap Costing Tool has been tested with stakeholders developing scale-up roadmaps in Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Pakistan. R4D hopes this tool will be useful to stakeholders, implementing partners, and governments developing MMS introduction and scale-up roadmaps in any country.

Calculate total country costs by sub-national geographies
The purpose of this add-on tool is to support country stakeholders in large countries in combining the sub-national geography costs into a national/country total costs view, to identify the funding requirements, inform the development of a financing/resource mobilization plan, and to serve as an aide to continue to update the country’s costing and financing plans. Only use this sheet if your country is totaling costs across multiple sub-national geographies (province/states).

We expect that this tool will improve over time as we continue to incorporate user feedback, and we welcome questions or feedback via email to Brighid Morgan or Amy Roberts. This page will always have the latest version of the tool, marked by a version number in the first tab of the excel.
